Ex–“Șor” Party official from Anenii Noi sentenced to 4.5 years; must repay 2.9 million lei
The vice president of the Anenii Noi territorial office of the former "Șor" Political Party was sentenced to four years and six months in prison after the court found him guilty of complicity in accepting illegal funding for the party from an organized criminal group.
The court has ordered the confiscation of over 2.9 million lei for the benefit of the state. This money was used for the party's activities, including organizing protests and paying participants, as announced by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The individual will serve their sentence in a semi-closed prison. Additionally, the court has imposed a four-year ban preventing them from holding leadership positions or managing the finances of political parties.
The preventive arrest measure, ordered on July 3, 2025, remains in effect, along with the search warrant for the defendant. The seizure of the defendant's assets will also continue to facilitate special confiscation.
Prosecutors have stated that the sentence can be appealed to the Central Court of Appeal within 15 days.
