“EU4Resilient Moldova”: Six Moldovan towns receive crisis-response equipment

Residents of six towns—Drochia, Iargara, Sângerei, Criuleni, Strășeni, and Cantemir—will have improved protection against disasters. With the modern equipment received on November 25 as part of the "EU4Resilient Moldova" project, housing and communal services will be able to respond quickly in emergencies.
The kits, valued at nearly two million lei each, include tipper trailers, wood chippers, and water pumps, most of which are produced in the Republic of Moldova.
Tomasz Horbowski, Director of the Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, stated that this equipment will enhance towns' resilience. “We have every confidence that this equipment will increase the capacity to respond to crises,” he said.
Marcia Kammitsi, Program Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, highlighted the EU’s commitment to small communities with limited technical resources. She noted that the support focuses on people and their safety. “Through such investments, we help small cities better respond to climate challenges and protect lives and property,” emphasized the EU representative.

By the end of this year, six additional municipal enterprises will receive medium-capacity tractors (50–90 HP) to ensure timely interventions during cold weather.
In total, 12 municipal enterprises were selected through a public grant call issued by the Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova in March.
The total value of the equipment is nearly 6.5 million lei, funded by the European Union through the “EU4Resilient Moldova” project.
