Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, and Dubai lead seasonal travel deals, say agencies

We are approaching that magical time of year when many of us feel the need to relax and escape from everyday life. Some dream of the sound of the sea, while others long for the fresh air of the mountains—preferences vary by personal taste and budget. Travel agencies cater to these desires with a variety of offers that suit every preference and financial situation. Among the top destinations for this season are Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Dubai.

Moldovans, in particular, tend to prefer travel destinations such as Romania and Bulgaria.

“As we approach the winter holidays, most people choose trips to see Christmas markets, like those in Sibiu, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, and Bucharest. Others look further afield to places like Vienna, Budapest, and Prague. The lowest price for a weekend trip starts at 99 euros,” says Sergiu Croitor, the director of a travel agency.

However, some travelers opt for warmer destinations, including Tanzania, Zanzibar, the Maldives, or the Seychelles Islands. Egypt remains the most popular choice, just as it was last year. A newer destination for Moldovans is Lapland, where visitors can discover the land of Santa Claus.

"This is a relatively new destination for the Moldovan market. There are two flights planned for December, one on December 24 and another on the 28. It is also available for New Year's. Prices start at 1,350 euros per person for a four-night stay,” explains Matei Sandu, a travel agent.

Citizens express their love for traveling and discovering new places.

"I really enjoy traveling. I try to go twice a year, sometimes three. I recently returned from Paris; it was a bit cold, but beautiful."

"In winter, I prefer to go to Bucovel. I like Bulgaria and Romania because they are the closest to home."

"I visited Abu Dhabi to see the Louvre there. As a teacher of plastic arts and technology, I found great pleasure in exploring the entire museum and seeing a smaller version of the Louvre in Paris."

"The more often, the better! Traveling abroad is desirable, but local trips in Moldova can also be enjoyable. For a seaside experience, Egypt is warmer, and for the mountains, I recommend Romania or Ukraine. After all, it's closer!"

In winter, many tourist platforms recommend visiting Christmas markets in cities like Brussels, Cologne, and Paris. Additionally, destinations such as Turkey, Egypt, and Tunisia are also popular. According to charts compiled by Romanian media, cities such as Sibiu, Brașov, and Oradea are highlighted as ideal locations to celebrate New Year's Eve.
