New Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station in Scoreni will serve more than 6,750 people

A new volunteer fire station was established in Scoreni, serving over 6,750 residents of the villages of Scoreni, Nimoreni, Malcoci, and Condrița.

Ten volunteer firefighters are prepared to respond promptly to fires and other emergencies until professional crews arrive. These volunteers have completed a specialized training course in fire extinguishing, first aid, and rescue operations at road accidents.

Each locality has distinct terrain characteristics. Scoreni is situated in a wooded area, Nimoreni is on a plateau with fruit plantations, Malcoci encompasses agricultural land, and Condrița includes forested and protected zones. This variety underscores the need for a volunteer rescue and fire station that can effectively address emergencies under different local conditions, according to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU).

The Scoreni fire station was constructed from the ground up with financial support from the European Union and the Solidarity Fund Poland in the Republic of Moldova, as well as contributions from local authorities. The total investment for building and improving the station exceeded 539,000 lei.

According to IGSU data, from 2022 to 2025, approximately 90 interventions were recorded in the localities of Scoreni, Nimoreni, Malcoci, and Condrița.

The Scoreni rescue and fire department is the 23rd active volunteer-based post. There are over 80 territorial rescue and fire departments across the Republic of Moldova.
