Moldova completes 206 km of road rehabilitation projects

Moldova's road rehabilitation efforts are progressing rapidly, with projects spanning an impressive 206 km of regional roads already completed.
This marks a significant milestone in the country's infrastructure projects, and an additional 66 km of district roads are scheduled for upgrade by the end of this year.
The progress report on the execution of the Program for the allocation of funds from the National Road Fund for public roads (covering January 1 – October 31, 2025) was presented at the Road Fund Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The finished sectors include projects in several districts, notably Cahul (8.70 km), Cimișlia (5.69 km), Orhei (4.18 km), Cantemir (approx. 5.2 km), Ocnița (5.10 km), and Leova (over 6 km).
The Government has allocated 1.21 billion Moldovan Lei through the National Road Fund this year for the repair of regional road surfaces.
A separate subject of the discussion focused on the necessary winter road preparation for the nation's main roads.
According to the report from the National Road Administration (AND), 466 road vehicles and specialized heavy equipment will be mobilized for winter maintenance work, including snow removal and the distribution of anti-skid material across the public road network.
The Administration also confirmed the adequate stock levels of anti-skid materials and technical salt, which are to be stored in 39 district depots.
To enhance winter safety, 50 video cameras have been installed along the main roads for real-time monitoring of traffic conditions.
The National Road Administration (AND) currently manages 5,993 km of national roads, comprising 631 km of expressways, 2,011 km of main roads, and 3,350 km of regional roads.
