Energy compensations can now be consulted online at compensatii.gov.md

Starting today, December 12, citizens of the Republic of Moldova can check their energy compensations on the government platform compensatii.gov.md. After logging in, each beneficiary can view the amount granted, the calculation method, and the allocated amount in their personal account.

For the cold season of 2025–2026, compensations will be calculated individually for each household. This year, the maximum limits for thermal energy, natural gas, and electricity have been reduced from 1,400 lei to 1,000 lei per month, following new rules approved by the Government on December 3. For solid fuels, the limit is set at 800 lei.

Support will be provided for the period from November 2025 to March 2026 and will take into account the household's energy consumption, vulnerability level, and primary heating source. The compensation formula specifies different percentages based on the type of energy used:

The updated regulations also introduce an additional eligibility criterion: households with members who received bank interest exceeding 4,000 lei in the previous year will not qualify for compensation. The minimum amount granted remains 500 lei, while the maximum limit is 1,000 lei, established based on tariffs, average consumption, and changes in the energy market.

Compensation will be paid in cash, either directly to the applicant's bank account or by mail. If the funds are not withdrawn by June 30, applicants will forfeit the allocated amount.

Over 780,000 individuals submitted applications during the registration period, which ended on November 28. The estimated budget to finance the compensation program for the 2025–2026 cold season is approximately 2.36 billion lei.
