According to a statement from the institution, this support will help Ukraine continue to pay salaries and pensions and to keep essential public services such as hospitals, schools and housing for displaced people.

It will also allow Ukraine to ensure macroeconomic stability and to restore critical infrastructure destroyed by Russia in its war of aggression, such as energy infrastructure, water systems, transport networks, roads and bridges, said the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

We remind you that the first installment of 3 billion euros within the same package was paid in January of this year. The European Commission will continue to provide financial support to Ukraine until the end of this year by unlocking monthly installments of 1.5 billion euros.
