Ousmane Dembele wins FIFA The Best 2025 men’s player award
Ousmane Dembele has been named the best men’s footballer in the world for 2025, securing the prestigious FIFA The Best trophy.
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star and French national team forward received the award at the annual awards gala held in Doha, Qatar.
"I want to thank all my teammates. It was a fantastic year of triumph, both individually and for the entire squad. I also extend my gratitude to my family for their unwavering support, as well as to Paris Saint-Germain, the coach, the staff, and everyone who works at this great club," Dembele stated.
Dembele already held the Ballon d’Or and has now added the FIFA The Best 2025 award. This recognition follows a phenomenal 2024/2025 season in which he contributed 35 goals and 16 assists across all competitions for PSG. His contributions were vital in securing the Champions League title, the French championship (Ligue 1), the French Cup, and the French Supercup.
He topped the votes ahead of his compatriot Kylian Mbappé and the Spanish young talent Lamine Yamal.
PSG Domination and Women's Football Triumphs
The dominance of the Parisian club was clear across the men’s awards. Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, another PSG player in the previous season, won the best goalkeeper award. The "The Best" award for the best coach was also claimed by the French club’s Spanish tactician, Luis Enrique.
The world football awards forum also honored its laureates in women's football. Both Aitana Bonmatí from FC Barcelona, and the Spanish women's national team continued their winning streak, claiming the trophy for the third consecutive year.
"I am truly grateful for this trophy. The fact that players, coaches, and football amateurs vote makes this appreciation even more meaningful," Bonmatí said.
The best women's coach was named the Dutchwoman Sarina Wiegman. This year, the coach of the England national team helped the squad secure the European Championship title.
