Free movement in the European Union. Moldovan carriers will not need permits
Moldovan carriers will be able to travel in the member states of the European Union (EU) without being required to hold an authorization, after March 31, 2023. The government approved the ratification of the agreement with the EU, which provides for the extension of the term of this facility until June 30, 2024 .
The extension of the Agreement's implementation period was decided in December 2022 at the meeting of the Republic of Moldova-EU Joint Committee. The implementation of this agreement contributed to the increase of exports to EU countries.
In 2022, the companies that have priority in the structure of transported goods (80.9%), transported 16.9 million tons of goods, of which 4.5 million tons (26.8%) in international traffic.
The agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EU regarding the road transport of goods was signed on June 29, 2022 in Lyon, initially being concluded for a period of up to March 31, 2023.
