“Christmas unites us”: Charity initiative with students from vocational and special schools
In Soroca, Christmas Eve emphasized kindness and solidarity. Students from vocational schools and educational institutions that include children with special educational needs gathered for a charity event. Together, they prepared baked goods and decorated cookies. This event is part of the national campaign "Christmas unites us: Be kind on Christmas Eve!", organized for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Education and Research.

In the kitchen of the Vocational School in Soroca, the atmosphere was celebratory. Guided by their teachers, the students prepared cakes, pies, and pancakes.
“I really enjoyed decorating the biscuits. This skill will come in handy during the holidays because I plan to make them with my mother at home,” one student shared.
“I learned how to bake biscuits here, even though I already knew how. But I really enjoyed the experience. Maybe in the future, I will become a chef too,” another student said.
Once the baked goods were ready, the students sold them at a fair organized in Libertății Square in Soroca.

We, the students, are excited about our preparations for this campaign, and we genuinely enjoy participating. The money we raise supports needy families.
To be part of this initiative, we purchase delicious goodies made by vocational school students.
This campaign is truly welcome as we buy these treats to bring comfort to those who are hungry.
The goal of this project is commendable. All funds collected during this action are directed to educational institutions that support children with special educational needs.
“The aim of the campaign is to engage both students from our institution and those from other schools in this solidarity effort, fostering the spirit of the winter holidays and encouraging everyone's contribution,” says Ivan Luța, interim director of Soroca Vocational School.

The campaign titled "Christmas unites us: Be good on Christmas Eve!" took place on Friday across ten vocational and technical education institutions in the Republic of Moldova. Students from 39 special and general education schools participated in the activities. Now in its second edition, this initiative, organized by the Ministry of Education and Research, aims to promote social inclusion, solidarity, and community involvement in supporting children with special educational needs.
