Ministers and artists join charity campaign in Chisinau

Journalists, MPs, ministers and artists left their offices and stages for a day to take on the role of cashiers at a supermarket in Chisinau. The action takes place as part of the "Being Santa Claus is Easy!" campaign.

At one of the cash registers, I met the Minister of Culture, Cristian Jardan.
“I will work at the cash register. This will be my first time in this role, but I am happy to participate in this charitable project. Everything we do here will help a community and support several families. I am glad to be part of such a beautiful and meaningful initiative,” said Cristian Jardan.
“If anyone thinks that standing at the cash register, counting, and calculating is a useless task, they are sorely mistaken. If I ever leave my profession, I would come to work at the cash registers,” said journalist Andrei Porubin.
“Like all the good people who accepted this initiative, I worked as a cashier for an hour. Whenever there is an opportunity to do something good, I do not hesitate. I believe this is a fantastic initiative,” explained conductor Andriano Marian.

Shoppers expressed surprise and appreciated the initiative.
"My cashier was the Minister of Culture. I really did not expect that. I am glad that such initiatives are organized; it is commendable, and I appreciate the involvement of all participants in this process."
"I support any charitable initiative."
"- Do you know who your cashier was? - Sure, it was Mr. Alexandru. I follow him, but I never dreamed he would be the cashier today. - What do you think of this initiative? - Very good! Why not? Maybe this will raise awareness among someone."
The amounts collected will help open a playroom and reading room in the village of Izbiște, Criuleni district, and will also contribute to the fund needed to provide food for over 150 vulnerable families from 46 rural localities. During the campaign, people could also buy products directly for families in need.
"On the Christmas tree at the entrance are stories from the socially vulnerable families we work with, describing their lives and current needs as the holidays approach. People can contribute by providing a food or hygiene package based on what is written in the letters," mentioned Victoria Morozov, president of "The Moldova Project" Association.
"- What products did you buy? - Buckwheat, rice, and more cereals. I participate in such campaigns every time to help needy children."

The "Being Santa Claus is Easy!" campaign is organized by "The Moldova Project" Association and is now in its fifth edition.
