Eugen Doga International Airport – Chisinau will add a luggage storage room
A luggage storage room is being established at the "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau. The airport administrator, Sergiu Spoială, announced this development during the December 22 edition of the PE FAȚĂ show on Moldova 1 TV. The project is currently underway.
According to Spoiala, this request comes from passengers seeking greater convenience during layovers.
"A passenger who arrives in our country for just a few hours will now have the option to store their luggage in a designated area. This way, they can explore and then return to the airport, retrieve their belongings, and continue their journey," Spoiala explained.
He also noted that all modernization projects at the "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau are funded entirely through the airport's own resources.
"Currently, we are financing all our ongoing projects, even the more expensive ones, with our own funds. The procurement plan for next year, which amounts to 1.29 million lei, will also be fully covered by the revenue our company generates," the airport administrator said.
Earlier, the administration announced significant modernization plans, including the expansion of the passenger terminal, which will be funded through these internal resources.
This fall, repair work was also conducted on the main runway, including upgrades to the aircraft guidance lighting system.
