Illegal gambling case: searches carried out in multiple southern and central districts
On December 24, law enforcement officers conducted raids in several districts of southern and central Moldova as part of a criminal investigation into the illegal organization of online gambling. The searches focused on individuals suspected of creating and managing unauthorized platforms, including the 1xBT platform.
Investigative officers, in collaboration with the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), carried out the actions.
The General Inspectorate of Police (IGP) reported that law enforcement officers seized mobile phones, computers, servers, data storage devices, and other electronic equipment pertinent to the criminal case.
Criminal investigations are ongoing, with additional prosecution actions in progress. No information is available regarding potential arrests.
Under current legislation, individuals found guilty of committing such a crime face a possible prison sentence of up to five years.
