Zimbru Chișinău hosted the second edition of the Christmas Cup

At the "Christmas Cup," an event dedicated to young talent, seven boys' teams participated—six from lyceums in Chisinau and one from Ungheni. A girls' team from the Zimbru club also competed in the tournament, demonstrating determination, courage, and a competitive spirit as they went head-to-head with the boys.
"The teams we faced were quite strong. We played against opponents with older players born in 2008-2009. It was challenging, but we still won," said one of the participants.
"It was tough, but we managed. I even played four matches as the goalkeeper. I want to thank the Zimbru club for organizing the Christmas Cup tournament and hope that such competitions will be held again," said young footballer Jessica Calancea.
"It was a challenging tournament. We battled teams with older players than us. It wasn't easy; even though a girls' team participated, they were quite strong", commented another player.
"The tournament was enjoyable and filled with energy. Everyone had the opportunity to showcase their talents," added one participant.
"I really liked it. It was my first time at this competition. It was fun; the children were cold at the beginning, but they warmed up as the tournament went on," said Dumitru Ciubotaru, a teacher at Mihai Eminescu Theoretical Lyceum in Ungheni.
The champion of the tournament was the team from "Gheorghe Asachi" Theoretical Lyceum in Chisinau. The prize fund for the tournament was 50,000 lei, and the winning team received 10,000 lei.
