Two ukrainians detained in Chișinău for drug trafficking worth 20 million lei

Two women from Ukraine, who are refugees in the Republic of Moldova, were detained in Chisinau in connection with a drug trafficking case, following a seizure estimated at approximately 20 million lei, according to the Police announcement.
According to law enforcement officials, two women, aged 30 and 33, are suspected of receiving packages containing drugs, which they brought to a temporary residence in Chișinău. There, the substances were divided into portions and offered for sale online.
As a result of actions taken by officers from the Investigations Directorate “Centru” and the criminal prosecution officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate, in collaboration with PCCOCS prosecutors, authorities seized 19 kilograms of various drugs, including heroin, alpha-PVP, mephedrone, methadone, ketamine, amphetamine, and cocaine, along with 600 ecstasy pills. These substances have been attached to the criminal file as evidence.
Following their arrest, a judge ordered a 30-day preventive detention for both suspects at the prosecutors' request.
Under the Criminal Code, the women could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty of the charges brought against them.
