The EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee adopts a declaration in support of Moldova's European course

Important day for the European future of the Republic of Moldova. Meeting in Brussels, the European Union - Republic of Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee adopted a Declaration, calling for accession negotiations to begin as soon as possible. According to a press release, this should happen after the nine recommendations made to Chisinau by the European Commission are fulfilled by the end of this year.

The Committee members also call for a special sanctions regime to be put in place against those who wish to destabilise the situation in Moldova.

The document adopted unanimously by the members of the Parliamentary Association Committee also calls for full trade liberalisation, the rapid integration of our country into the European Single Market and increased financial support from the EU.

The declaration was adopted at the 13th meeting of the Parliamentary Association Committee held in the European Parliament and attended by members of the European Parliament, the Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the European Commission and the European External Action Service.
