Summer time 2023. How we change clocks and when we switch to summer time
On the night of Saturday 25 March to Sunday 26 March, we will switch to summer time. The clocks will be moved forward one hour so that 3:00 will become 4:00. Because of the time change, Sunday will be the shortest day in 2023, at just 23 hours.
The changeover to summer time takes place a week after the vernal equinox, marked on 20 March, when day equals night. The time change often has an impact on people's psyche and health, which needs some time to adjust.
To ease the transition period, moderate exercise is recommended and it is important to maintain a sleep regime. The changeover to summer time was first implemented in New Zealand in 1895. The Republic of Moldova adopted the practice in 1979.
