Snowfall in northern Moldova prompts 58 road vehicles

Recent snowfall over the past few hours has necessitated interventions on several road segments in northern Moldova. According to the National Road Administration (AND), teams worked throughout the night to clear the roads and apply anti-skid materials.
A total of 58 pieces of special equipment and 37 road workers were mobilized to carry out the necessary work. In all, 218 tons of technical salt and 86 tons of anti-skid material were utilized to ensure safe traffic conditions.
The interventions targeted both national and regional roads, with most of the work focused in the districts of Glodeni, Soroca, Ocnița, Briceni, Edineț, Drochia, Florești, Șoldănești, Dondușeni, Fălești, as well as the municipality of Bălți. Additional efforts were reported in two areas in central Moldova, namely Strașeni and Ialoveni.
Currently, traffic on national roads is operating under winter conditions. The roads are mostly dry, although some areas still have snow. The authorities are actively monitoring the situation on the ground and advise drivers to proceed with increased caution, especially in regions where snowfall is ongoing.
