Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan talked on the phone about the war in Ukraine

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Turkish leader, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, discussed the situation in Ukraine by phone, TASS reports.

The source notes that the Turkish president thanked Vladimir Putin for his position on the extension of the "grain agreement". The two leaders also discussed future plans for the development of relations between Turkey and Russia and events related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. In addition, the Turkish leader noted that Turkey pays great importance to the quick conclusion of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations. Earlier, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Ankara will not be a party to armed conflicts and intends to advocate for a peaceful settlement, as it is doing in the case of Ukraine. The Ankara leader also expressed his willingness to hold rounds of negotiations between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Russian counterpart.
