Two prosecutors pass Moldovan vetting as CSP approves reports

The acting chief prosecutor of the Political and Project Management Section of the Prosecutor General's Office, Gheorghe Borș, along with prosecutor Vitalie Codreanu, recognized for his involvement in managing the "kuliok" case, has been found to have no issues regarding ethical or financial integrity. On January 15, the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) approved the reports from the External Evaluation Commission, which recommended that the two state prosecutors undergo a vetting process for promotion.
Gheorghe Borș has been a prosecutor at the Hâncești District Prosecutor's Office since September 1998.
On December 22, 2017, he was appointed as a prosecutor in the General Prosecutor's Office, specifically in the Policy, Reform, and Project Management Section.

Vitalie Codreanu began his career as a prosecutor in July 2011, initially working in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Service at the Prosecutor General's Office.
Since July 2016, Codreanu has been employed at the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, where he is particularly recognised for his work on the "Kuliok" case involving former President Igor Dodon.

We remind you that the two prosecutors did not pass the pre-vetting process when they applied for positions on the Superior Council of Prosecutors.
As of now, the Prosecutors Evaluation Commission has informed 190 state prosecutors, with finalized reports completed for only 50 of them.
