The Russian army hit two residential blocks in the town of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. The adviser to the president of Ukraine, Andrei Yermak, announced that there were no casualties. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia will station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. According to him, such a measure would not violate nuclear non-proliferation agreements, as the United States has nuclear weapons on the territory of some European allies. The Kremlin leader's statements drew international criticism. The United States said there is no indication that Russia is preparing to use these nuclear weapons, and Germany has accused Moscow of a new nuclear threat attempt.
