Ukrainian drones target strategic refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region

Debris from intercepted Ukrainian drones struck two industrial facilities in Slavyansk-na-Kubani, Russia’s Krasnodar region, sparking fires and injuring one person early Monday morning.
The regional emergency center confirmed the strikes but did not name the specific enterprises. However, local reports and social media footage indicate the primary target was a private oil refinery with a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day.
Defense systems overwhelmed
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones overnight. According to official statements, 34 of these aircraft were downed specifically over the Krasnodar territory.
Telegram channels and local residents shared footage showing the night sky illuminated by intense orange glows and secondary explosions emanating from the refinery’s direction.

The energy war escalates
Ukraine continues to launch deep-strike missions against Russian military and industrial infrastructure. These operations rely on domestically developed long-range drones designed to disrupt fuel supplies for the Russian military and export markets.
This latest strike follows a week of intense aerial warfare. Russia launched over 1,700 strike drones, 1,380 guided aerial bombs, and 69 missiles against Ukrainian territory in the last seven days alone.
Zelenskyy warns of devastating impact
During a visit to Lithuania on Sunday, January 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that any massive Russian assault could have a devastating impact on regional stability.
"We are working with all leaders to strengthen Ukraine," Zelenskyy stated. He urged the international community to maintain a clear understanding of the ongoing threat posed by Russian aggression.
