The abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by the United States has shattered international legal frameworks and constitutes a potential "act of war," stated Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council.

Medvedev warned that the current geopolitical climate has reached a critical threshold, explicitly stating that a global conflict can no longer be ruled out.

"What happened to President Nicolas Maduro is a blatant violation of all international law norms," Medvedev told reporters from Reuters, TASS, and WarGonzo at his residence outside Moscow.

The Russian official argued that the move destabilizes the global diplomatic architecture. He suggested that if a foreign power were to "abduct" Donald Trump, the U.S. would undoubtedly respond with military force.

While emphasizing that Moscow is not seeking a global confrontation, Medvedev noted that the risk remains high. "We are not irrational; no one needs a global conflict," he remarked, though he cautioned that the scenario is increasingly plausible.

Addressing Western concerns regarding Russian or Chinese influence in Greenland, Medvedev dismissed these claims as "fabricated alarmism." He characterized such narratives as tools used by Western leaders to justify their own strategic maneuvers.

In a final warning regarding Western cohesion, Medvedev suggested that the current trajectory could lead to internal friction or military escalations within the NATO bloc before any broader stabilization occurs.
