Over 2,000 owners appeal real estate revaluation

More than 2,000 people have filed appeals, challenging the results of the national real estate valuation and revaluation process. As a result, owners of more than one million properties in the Republic of Moldova found their properties more expensive.
Ivan Danii, the general director of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, stated in an interview with Moldova 1 that 1.5 million homes have been revalued, while nearly 5 million were assessed for the first time.
"On average across the country, the value has increased threefold for the properties that were revalued. In Chișinău, the increase is about 2.9 times, but in areas further away from Chișinău, it can be as much as 15 times because the previous values in rural areas were very low," explained Ivan Danii.
To learn about the mechanisms for evaluating assets, how citizens can file appeals, and the anticipated increases in real estate tax, tune in to the interview with the general director of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, which will be broadcast on February 17, during Jurnalul de la ora 13:00.
