Victims of domestic violence will benefit from integrated assistance. A specialized center will be opened in Chisinau
The minimum activity standards of the first integrated assistance center, intended for victims of domestic violence and sexual violence, were established in a Regulation, approved today by the Government. The center will be opened at the beginning of June, reads the Government's press release.
The Family Justice Center (CJF) is modeled after similar centers in European countries and the United States of America. Within it, the prompt and efficient documentation of cases of violence will be ensured, and the process will be carried out in close collaboration between the representatives of law enforcement bodies and specialists from other institutions - forensic doctors, psychologists, lawyers, social workers.
In this sense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to sign cooperation agreements with the local public administration bodies and other authorities, as well as with service providers.
Through its form of organization, the CJF will represent a subdivision of the General Police Inspectorate, with a continuous activity regime (24/24, 7 days a week). Public and private institutions will delegate specialists to the center to provide complex assistance to victims of violence. The integrated approach will reduce the number of institutions and specialists with whom victims have to interact during the justice process, reducing the chances of repeated traumatization of persons subjected to gender-based violence.
About 5,940.8 thousand lei were provided in the state budget for 2023 for opening this center.
