Lithuanian Seimas committee affirms strategic support for Moldova's European path

A high-level delegation from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Lithuanian Seimas, led by Chairman Remigijus Motuzas, is conducting an official visit to Moldova from February 23–25.

The Lithuanian lawmakers are scheduled to meet with President Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu to discuss bilateral cooperation.

High-level diplomatic agenda

The visit includes talks with Vice-Speaker Doina Gherman and State Secretary Carolina Perebinos. Discussions focus on accelerating Moldova’s EU integration and expanding defense partnerships.

This mission follows a surge in Baltic support, including a recent visit by three Baltic speakers and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys earlier this month.

Concrete results in connectivity

Lithuania has reaffirmed its political backing for Moldova’s democratic institutions. Both nations have pledged to deepen cooperation in security, defense, and economic dialogue.

As a tangible result of this partnership, direct flights between Chisinau and Vilnius will officially launch on April 1, 2026, enhancing regional mobility.
