Moldova joins New European Bauhaus Boost program for small municipalities

The Republic of Moldova is now eligible to participate in the "NEB Boost" program, a landmark initiative launched by the European Commission. The scheme identifies and funds innovative projects that transform local communities into aesthetic, sustainable, and inclusive spaces.
The NEB Boost award specifically targets small municipalities, offering financial and strategic support to 20 projects located in rural areas or communities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Eligible applicants include local governments, community organizations, and private initiatives from Moldova, the EU, the Western Balkans, and Ukraine.
Focus on sustainable architecture
Submissions must focus on the built environment, prioritizing the renovation and adaptation of public spaces. Projects should demonstrate a commitment to carbon neutrality, circular economy principles, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Affordable housing solutions and the regeneration of neglected urban or rural zones are also key priorities.
Strategic support and recognition
The 20 winners will each receive €30,000 (approx. 591,000 MDL) prize. Beyond the financial incentive, the European Commission will provide a bespoke communication package designed to amplify the visibility of these projects across the continent.
The deadline for submitting applications is March 17. Detailed applicant guides are available through the official European Commission portal.
