The White House has formally detailed the strategic objectives of "Operation Epic Fury," confirming that the total destruction of Iran’s missile industry and naval fleet remains a primary mandate. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced via X (formerly Twitter) that the military campaign aims to permanently deprive the regime’s "terrorist proxies" of their ability to destabilize global security.

The operation seeks to halt the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. According to Leavitt, the neutralization of the radical regime is a "clear and necessary" objective for American interests. The administration confirmed that 49 high-ranking officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have already been eliminated during the initial phases of the strikes.

Failure of diplomacy and military recourse

Despite months of negotiations led by President Donald Trump’s team, the Tehran regime reportedly refused a peace deal, choosing instead to resume its nuclear program. Leavitt noted that while the Summer 2025 campaign successfully neutralized key nuclear sites, the regime's continued commitment to enrichment left the U.S. with no alternative but direct military intervention.

A new era of accountability

President Trump justified the strikes—which began on February 28 in coordination with Israel—as a corrective measure against decades of "strategic cowardice" by previous leaders. The U.S. estimates the operation will continue for approximately four weeks. President Trump has signaled that the administration is already evaluating three potential candidates to lead a post-regime Iran.
