Nearly 370,000 passengers flew from Chișinău in February; Sharm el-Sheikh, Dubai, Bucharest top destinations

In February this year, nearly 370,000 passengers traveled on air routes operated from the "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chisinau. This figure represents a 28.2% increase, or 79,834 passengers, compared to February 2022, according to airport data.
In February, 15 popular destinations registered between 2,000 and almost 7,000 passengers, and 10 new destinations introduced to the flight network attracted between 1,000 and over 3,000 passengers each.
The route to Sharm el Sheikh leads the ranking with 6,886 passengers, followed by Dubai with 6,000 and Bucharest with 5,867 passengers.
Paris, Barcelona and Yerevan also recorded high volumes, each exceeding the 5,000 passenger threshold, while Bologna, Larnaca, Brussels and Istanbul complete the list of destinations with notable increases.

Over 25,000 passengers flew on the new routes in February, representing 6.89% of the month's total traffic.
Flights to Bratislava and Naples were the most popular, with 3,614 and 3,466 passengers respectively, followed by Baden-Baden, Turin and Wrocław.

In total, passenger traffic in February 2026 reached 362,826 people, representing 127.8% of the forecast, according to officials at the "Eugen Doga" International Airport - Chisinau.
