ANRE proposes electricity price cut

Electricity prices may decrease for households served by Premier Energy and FEE Nord. On Friday, March 6, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) proposed draft decisions for public consultations regarding electricity tariff adjustments.
According to published drafts, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) proposes a new electricity tariff of 3.50 lei/kWh for Premier Energy, which is 9 bani lower than the current rate of 3.59 lei/kWh and 33 bani below the rate requested by the supplier.
For consumers in the northern part of the country, who are served by Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord (FEE Nord), ANRE proposes a tariff of 3.92 lei/kWh. This represents an 8 bani decrease from the current rate and is 40 bani lower than the tariff that FEE Nord requested.
In February of this year, both Premier Energy and Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord requested ANRE to adjust the tariffs in response to rising electricity prices.
ANRE representatives have indicated that the publication of these documents is part of the public consultation phase and does not constitute a final decision. The proposed tariffs will be analyzed and then submitted for approval to the institution's Board of Directors, in accordance with legal procedures.
The authority encourages all interested parties to review the documents and submit their opinions, proposals, or well-founded objections, along with relevant justifications and calculations.
Currently, household consumers in central and southern Moldova pay a tariff of 3.59 lei, while those in the north pay 4 lei/kWh.
