Moldova’s President Maia Sandu condemns Russian strikes on Ukraine as war crimes

President Maia Sandu has forcefully condemned Russia’s overnight strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. The Moldovan leader categorized the attacks as war crimes and called on the international community to maintain unwavering support for Kyiv.
Speaking via social media platform X, the head of state emphasized that Moldova stands in full solidarity with its neighbor. "Russia’s attacks last night on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure are war crimes," Sandu stated, adding that Moldova condemns these military actions without reservation.
The President’s appeal comes amidst an intensification of Russian strikes targeting non-military sites. Sandu stressed that the global community must remain focused on the situation in Ukraine, noting that "there is no room for hesitation" at this critical juncture.
The latest wave of Kremlin aggression has resulted in significant civilian casualties across several regions. A missile strike on Kharkiv claimed at least seven lives, including two children, while another fatality was reported in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk.
These strikes have drawn widespread condemnation from Western leaders and international human rights organizations. The events underscore the escalating humanitarian crisis as Russia continues to target residential areas and energy grids.
