Moldova reports over 11,000 job vacancies as urban demand surges

The National Employment Agency (ANOFM) reported 11,023 active job vacancies across Moldova as of March 5, 2026. The data reveals a significant geographic concentration, with 90% of all available positions located in urban centers, leaving only 10% for rural areas.
The manufacturing industry continues to drive the national labor market. Employers are primarily seeking seamstresses (1,036 positions), auxiliary workers (908), and automotive cabling technicians (817).
The transport and public safety sectors also show strong demand. Current listings include 642 openings for drivers and trolleybus operators, alongside 483 vacancies for law enforcement and public order officers.
Educational requirements and professional skill gaps
The labor market remains heavily skewed toward vocational training. Approximately 6,477 positions (nearly 60%) are designated for candidates with technical or vocational backgrounds, such as welders, electricians, and mechanics.
In contrast, high-skilled roles requiring university degrees account for 2,351 vacancies. These professional opportunities include positions for engineers, accountants, medical doctors, and IT specialists.
Accessibility for low-skilled workforce
There are currently 2,195 positions available for individuals with primary or lower secondary education. These roles primarily cover manual labor, including maintenance staff, security guards, and warehouse packers.
ANOFM encourages all active job seekers to visit their territorial subdivisions for personalized guidance. The agency remains the primary hub for connecting Moldova’s workforce with the expanding needs of the private and public sectors.
