Moldova and Hungary bolster defense ties and honor fallen soldiers in Budapest

Moldovan Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi and his Hungarian counterpart, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Budapest to deepen bilateral defense cooperation.

The strategic meeting coincided with the unveiling of a new military monument dedicated to fallen soldiers hailing from present-day Moldova who perished on Hungarian soil across historical conflicts.
Honoring a shared military heritage
The inauguration ceremony served as a symbolic milestone for both nations. Minister Nosatîi described the event as a landmark chapter in the history of military memory and bilateral relations.
The memorial honors soldiers from the current territory of the Republic of Moldova, ensuring their sacrifice is formally recognized within the international diplomatic landscape.
