Over 9 tons of imported peppers destroyed as non-compliant

A batch of over 9 tons of imported peppers was found non-compliant after a control at the Leușeni border crossing point, according to the National Food Safety Agency.

Laboratory analyses showed that pesticide residue levels exceeded the maximum permitted limits, specifically identifying the substance Buprofezin in quantities exceeding the allowed norms.

As a result, authorities prohibited the sale of this product in the Republic of Moldova.

In accordance with legal procedures, the entire stock was destroyed to eliminate any risk to consumer health.

ANSA has stated that it will continue to closely monitor imported products to ensure compliance with food safety requirements and protect the population.
