Luxury cars stolen abroad and sold in Moldova; group dismantled

Cars stolen from European Union countries are smuggled into the Republic of Moldova and sold through specialized online platforms. This scheme was operated by a group of four men originally from the Hâncești and Strășeni districts.
Law enforcement officials have announced the dismantling of a criminal group involving four men aged between 22 and 37. These individuals registered a construction company in Brussels, Belgium, using false documents and identities.
According to law enforcement, "Through this company, the members of the group purchased several luxury vehicles on lease, three of which were fraudulently imported into the territory of the Republic of Moldova and listed for sale on online car sales platforms."
The vehicles in question, which had previously been announced as internationally wanted, were seized and are currently stored in the Border Police's special parking lot.
Authorities claim to have gathered conclusive evidence confirming the men's involvement in this scheme, following searches of their homes and vehicles. The suspects are currently being investigated while at large, and law enforcement bodies are taking additional measures to identify all individuals involved and uncover any other means of transportation that were illegally introduced into the Republic of Moldova.
