Moldova energy ministry to host major career fair at MoldEnergy Expo 2026

The Moldovan Ministry of Energy is set to launch a specialized career fair during the upcoming MoldEnergy Expo, scheduled for April 2–4. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the nation’s energy sector by connecting top-tier talent with leading state and private utilities.

The event features a powerhouse coalition including Moldelectrica, Red Nord, Premier Energy, and Moldovagaz. These industry leaders are currently seeking over 250 professionals for roles offering salaries ranging from approximately €355 (7,000 MDL) to €1,320 (26,000 MDL), depending on expertise.

Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu will officially inaugurate the fair on April 2. He will be joined by high-level dignitaries, including German Ambassador Hubert Knirsch, French Ambassador Dominique Waag, and Jérémy Pellet, Director General of Expertise France.

The MoldEnergy Expo is a cornerstone of the regional industry, typically drawing 50 participating companies and over 6,000 visitors. This year’s focus on human capital reflects a broader push to modernize Moldova's infrastructure.

For context, the national minimum wage stands at 6,300 MDL, while the average monthly salary is projected at €883 (17,400 MDL) for 2026. The energy sector's top-tier offers significantly exceed these national benchmarks.

According to National Employment Agency (ANOFM) data from March 5, 2026, there are over 11,000 job vacancies nationwide. While the energy sector seeks specialized skills, the broader market remains dominated by demand for vocational roles in manufacturing and logistics.
