The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, began her official visit to Romania. The head of state was welcomed at the Cotroceni Palace by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, and the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, who is on an official visit to Bucharest.
The three officials will have a trilateral meeting, after which they will hold a joint press conference. The statements are planned for 4:45 p.m. and can be watched live on Moldova 1 TV.
According to the media from Romania, the main topics addressed by Sandu, Iohannis and Scholz will concern the situation in the Republic of Moldova, bilateral cooperation, as well as topics of European politics, security and energy.
It should be mentioned that the situation in our country was discussed this afternoon, by the President of Romania and the Chancellor of Germany, who was on an official visit to Romania. The officials declared, after the meeting, that the Republic of Moldova will continue to be supported in strengthening resilience and in the European integration process. "Support for the Republic of Moldova is more than a symbol", Olaf Scholz said, while Klaus Iohannis assured that "the interest for the Republic of Moldova is a common one and it is a real interest".
President Maia Sandu's agenda in Bucharest includes a meeting with Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown and His Royal Majesty, Prince Radu. The Royal House of Romania announces that Maia Sandu visited the Elisabeta Palace in the afternoon, where she planted an oak tree and signed the Golden Book of the Elisabeta Palace, opened in 1937.
