Moldova to switch to Daylight Saving Time on Sunday

The Republic of Moldova will officially switch to Daylight Saving Time (DST) this weekend, setting clocks forward by one hour. At 03:00 on Sunday, 29 March, time will advance to 04:00.
The adjustment ensures the country remains synchronised with the European Union member states. This alignment is critical for the seamless operation of international transport, telecommunications, and digital services within the regional market.
Most digital infrastructure and electronic devices will update automatically. However, authorities recommend that citizens manually verify analogue timepieces to avoid scheduling disruptions on Sunday morning.
While the change provides longer daylight hours, health experts advise immediate morning sunlight exposure to mitigate temporary fatigue or irritability. Reducing caffeine intake during the transition can also assist the body’s internal clock in adapting to the new rhythm.
Moldova shares the same time zone and seasonal adjustment mechanism as neighbouring Romania and Ukraine. The DST period will remain in effect until the final Sunday of October.
