Train crash in the Netherlands: At least one dead and 30 injured
At least one person has died and 30 others were injured after a train derailed in the Netherlands on Tuesday morning. The condition of 19 victims is serious, Dutch emergency services said, Euronews reports.
The night train on the Leiden-Haga route derailed at around 03:25 (04:25 GMT) after the locomotive hit construction equipment on the track. The train accident occurred in the area of Voorschoten, on the north-eastern outskirts of The Hague.
According to the fire brigade, 19 people were taken to hospital. Other injured people received care at the scene.
The train's front car derailed and overturned in a field following the accident.
