Street begging rises in Moldova; police warn of associated risks
Street begging is on the rise in the Republic of Moldova, posing risks to both traffic participants and the individuals involved, according to the General Inspectorate of Police.
A police analysis indicates that most individuals who encounter street begging do not actually have health issues, contrary to what they or their acquaintances may claim. In light of this, authorities are encouraging the public to report every instance of begging by calling 112 so these situations can be investigated and addressed for public safety.
