Shahed drone crosses Moldovan airspace at 3,000 m, Defense Ministry

On the morning of Friday, April 3, a Shahed drone flew illegally over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense, which announced that the aircraft was detected by the surveillance systems of the National Army.
The Air Operations Service of the National Army has announced that, today at 08:13, its surveillance systems detected a Shahed drone flying over national airspace. According to the press release, the drone entered the territory of the Republic of Moldova illegally from Beleaevka, a locality in the Odessa region of Ukraine.
After crossing into Moldova, the drone moved toward the Tudora locality in the Stefan Voda district, then returned toward Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense reported that the illegal overflight occurred at an altitude of 3,000 meters and at a speed of 167 km/h. At 08:15, the drone exited Moldovan airspace, crossing the state border back into Ukraine near the locality of Krutoiarovka in the Odessa region.
The National Army's monitoring systems continue to keep a constant watch over the airspace, and the Ministry of Defense is collaborating with national authorities and specialists from neighboring countries to ensure the safety of citizens and mitigate potential risks.
Since the beginning of the war launched by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the airspace of the Republic of Moldova has been illegally breached numerous times, with incidents condemned by the authorities in Chișinău on each occasion.
Several drones have crashed on Moldovan territory—landing in fields, gardens, or on rooftops. Some of these drones were equipped with explosives. While some detonated upon impact, others were safely neutralized by law enforcement officers.
