EUPM upgrades CNA IT systems, boosting digital security for investigations and data protection

The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) will enhance its efforts to prevent and combat corruption, thanks to new IT equipment and resources donated by the European Union Partnership Mission to the Republic of Moldova (EUPM). This support has been made possible with financial assistance from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chisinau.

The donation includes hardware and software, licenses, phones, and other essential IT resources.

According to the CNA, this equipment will help to "improve the operational efficiency of the institution, enhance information security, and optimize activities to prevent and combat corruption."

The modernization of the IT infrastructure will enable more effective data protection, reduce cyber risks, and create a safer digital environment for conducting investigations. This is crucial, as the institutions responsible for combating corruption handle large volumes of sensitive data.

Additionally, the new resources will streamline internal processes. They will facilitate better information exchange, data analysis, and improve coordination of anti-corruption actions.

Representatives of the National Anticorruption Center believe that this support will directly enhance operational efficiency.

The new equipment addresses the current needs of the Center, particularly as digitalization and cybersecurity increasingly play crucial roles in investigating and preventing corruption.

The European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova is a civilian initiative that began in May 2023 at the request of the authorities in Chișinău.

The mission aims to support the Republic of Moldova across security and resilience, crisis management, cybersecurity, and countering hybrid threats. It provides advice and assistance to enhance the security sector.
