Campaign supports vulnerable families in Soroca

Families with modest incomes in the Soroca district received clothes, shoes, and toys for their children as part of the charity campaign "Give with Warmth", now in its sixth edition. This initiative, supported by students, parents, and educational institutions, aims to assist children from socially vulnerable backgrounds by providing them with essential items, especially ahead of the Easter holidays.
Beneficiaries have expressed that the support they receive is essential, especially given rising prices.
"This is my first year here, and the charity is very welcome. Even today, prices are very high for dressing a child, even for everyday use," shared one mother.
Another mother mentioned that she found several useful items: "I found a suitcase and a hat; everything is so helpful."
For large families, the support is even more significant. "Thank you for these clothes. I have six children, and I am pregnant. [...] I appreciate the people who donated these clothes, and I wish them good luck," said a beneficiary, noting she found items for all her children.
Other mothers highlighted how such initiatives help them manage daily expenses: "I have four children. It feels good to receive clothes, shoes, and everything we need."
The children were particularly thrilled with the gifts, especially with the holidays approaching. One child said, "I found a lot of clothes, and I have something new to wear for Easter."
Participants in the campaign are grateful for the community's involvement and solidarity. One mother said, "This act of charity is wonderful," while another expressed her gratitude: "May God grant health to those who donated these items and who care for our children."
The collection of donations is supported by students from over 20 schools, along with their families, and is organized at both local and district levels. A mother involved in the campaign emphasized the importance of community contributions: "Together with the parents, we mobilize every time. We have been collecting clothes for years because what may seem like a small thing to some is a significant and welcome gift to others."
Organizers noted the constant mobilization of parents from various localities in the district. "We are very happy that all the parents from the Soroca district have joined together again. They brought everything they could and offered it to needy families," said one participant.
The initiative is organized by the District Parents' Council and the Soroca Education Directorate. Elena Prodan, the head of the institution, emphasized that donations include not only clothes and shoes but also food products. "Parents from educational institutions organize collections of clothes, shoes, and even food products. The neediest parents come with their children to choose everything they require. We consider it a noble goal to help those in need," she stated.
The organizers said that this initiative would continue in the coming years, driven by the active involvement of the community and the desire to support families facing difficulties.
