Maia Sandu will visit the country assuming EU Council Presidency from July 1

President Maia Sandu will officially visit Ireland on Wednesday, April 8. Ireland will hold the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) starting this July.
The head of state has an agenda that includes meetings with several key figures: the President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly; the Prime Minister, Micheál Martin, with whom the head of state will hold a press conference; and the Deputy Prime Minister, Simon Harris.
The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and supporting the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova, especially as Ireland prepares to assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1.
President Sandu will also meet with members of the Irish Parliament and participate in a public discussion at Trinity College Dublin, according to information from the Presidency in Chisinau.
Additionally, in Dublin, Maia Sandu plans to meet with Moldovans living in Ireland.
We remind you that on March 18, Thomas Byrne, the Minister for European Affairs and Defense of Ireland, visited Chisinau. During this visit, he and Maia Sandu discussed the importance of establishing an Embassy of Ireland in the Republic of Moldova and emphasized the intention to further strengthen the ties between Chisinau and Dublin.
