Easter 2026: 10-day school holiday; Chișinău kindergartens closed April 13 and 20
Students in the Republic of Moldova will stay home from April 11 to April 20 for Easter break and will return to class on Tuesday, April 21.
Authorities urge parents and caregivers to supervise children, particularly in public spaces and online, and to remind them of traffic and safety rules.
It is also important for students to avoid unfamiliar places and interactions with strangers. In case of danger, they should seek help from an adult or call 112.
Additionally, teachers are encouraged to discuss responsible behavior with students before the holidays.
Please note that the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year will conclude on May 29. However, students in grades 9 and 12 will finish their courses earlier, on May 25, in preparation for national exams.
Chisinau kindergarten schedule
During the Easter holidays, kindergartens in Chisinau will have a shortened schedule, operating until 4:00 PM today.
At the request of parents, and in justified cases, service groups will be organized to accommodate family needs. Parents are encouraged to contact their child's school administration for more information or to enrol their child in these service groups.
The shortened schedule will also be in effect next Friday, April 17. Additionally, all early childhood education institutions will be closed on April 13 and April 20.
