Nisporeni named “Capital of Sports 2026” will receive 2 million lei

Nisporeni was named the "Capital of Sports 2026". In this regard, the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) will allocate two million lei for sports activities.

Nisporeni was selected as the winner of a public competition involving ten localities, highlighting the community's commitment to developing and supporting sports.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports, led by the State Secretary for Sports, Sergiu Gurin, met with local authorities in Nisporeni to kick off the "Nisporeni - Capital of Sports 2026" program.

During this working meeting, the team established strategic directions for implementation, outlined the stages and preliminary calendar of planned sports activities, and analyzed priority actions to ensure active community involvement and leverage the city's sports potential. A significant topic discussed was the appointment of a program ambassador and potential investments to enhance sports infrastructure in Nisporeni.

The "Capital of Sports" program, now in its second edition, aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle by organizing sports events for all age groups, encouraging participation, and fostering social cohesion.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MEC), the "Nisporeni - Capital of Sports 2026" initiative serves as an example of best practices for promoting sports nationally, emphasizing sustainable development, community engagement, and broad access to sports activities.

We remind you that the first edition of this program was awarded to the town of Călărași.
