Moldova’s state leadership urges national unity and solidarity in Easter messages
Moldova’s top leadership addressed the nation with messages of hope and solidarity on the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ, calling for unity and care for the vulnerable.
In statements published on social media, President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized the spiritual significance of the holiday as a time for reflection and national cohesion.
President Maia Sandu urged citizens to return to essential values and demonstrate empathy toward those in difficulty. She described Easter as a symbol of the "triumph of light over darkness" and the strength to persevere through challenging times.
"In these holy days, I urge you to turn toward what truly matters: faith, hope, and care for those around us," the head of state noted. She underlined that a sincere gesture or a helping hand can provide vital comfort where it is most needed.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu addressed Moldovans at home and in the diaspora, highlighting the role of traditions in strengthening society. He noted that regardless of their location, Moldovans remain bound by shared values.
"The Easter holiday reminds us of who we are and what truly connects us," the Speaker stated. Grosu added that past challenges have proven that Moldovans are "invincible when united," calling for continued confidence in a shared future.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu focused on the inner peace and human dignity brought by the Resurrection. He encouraged citizens to maintain the "light of the holiday" in their daily interactions long after the celebrations end.
"Easter brings a unique tranquility that draws us closer," the Prime Minister said. He emphasized the importance of remaining compassionate and patient, concluding his message with the traditional Paschal greeting, "Christ is Risen!"
