Moldova looks forward to accelerating our partnership with Hungary — building on the friendship that unites our people — and to working together for a stronger, more united, resilient Europe.
Landslide victory for the Tisza party
Official results, with 98.94% of votes counted, confirm a significant shift in the Hungarian political landscape. The Tisza party, under the leadership of Péter Magyar, has secured 138 of the 199 seats in the National Assembly, achieving a constitutional supermajority.
The distribution of mandates for the winning party includes:
- 93 seats won in individual constituencies.
- 45 seats obtained via the national party list.
The outgoing Fidesz party, led by Viktor Orbán, retained 55 seats, while the right-wing Our Homeland (Mi Hazánk) party secured six mandates. The swiftness of President Sandu’s message underscores the strategic importance Chișinău places on its future cooperation with the new administration in Budapest.
