Teleradio-Moldova marks the passing of Gheorghe Urschi with a special programming lineup
Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) will honour the late actor and director Gheorghe Urschi with a special programming lineup on April 14 and 15.
TRM will offer special editions, films, and archival programs dedicated to Gheorghe Urschi on all its platforms, including TV Moldova 1, Moldova 2, and Radio Moldova .
On Moldova 1, on April 14, viewers can revisit defining moments from Urschi’s career through the tribute program “Dor. Gheorghe Urschi,” starting at 21:50. At 22:25, the public broadcaster will air the feature film “Văleu, văleu, nu turna,” one of the productions in which he performed.
The April 15 schedule, declared a national day of mourning, will focus on commemorating the artist’s impact on society. From 00:20, the channel will broadcast key archival moments, while the morning will begin with the film “Cine arvonește, acela plătește”, followed by a special edition of “Buna Dimineata” from 06:00 to 09:00, featuring guests who knew and appreciated Urschi.
At 09:15, the programme “Destin. Portrete în timp” will present an in-depth portrait of Gheorghe Urschi.
The day’s centerpiece will be the live broadcast of Urschi’s funeral between 10:00 and 13:00 and 14:00 and 15:00, allowing the public to pay a final tribute.
The evening will conclude with the special edition “Gheorghe Urschi at 70 at Home”, featuring interviews with close associates and archival footage, presented by Liliana Urschi, starting at 21:50.
Moldova 2 TV will broadcast elements of the late artist’s heritage, giving audiences the chance to revisit representative works and memorable moments from his career.
Tuesday, April 14 will feature concerts and tributes.

Radio Moldova will prepare, for April 15, topics, live broadcasts, vox pops, archival selections, and songs with and about Gheorghe Urschi within its morning program “Dimineata cu Radio Moldova”, followed by a special edition titled “In memoriam Gheorghe Urschi. Testament of the King of Humor,” from 10:10 to 13:00, featuring live coverage of the funeral.
In the programme “Zi de Zi”, starting at 15:30, the station will air an extensive report from the funeral ceremony, followed by a studio interview about the play “Testament”, broadcast from 16:05.
Teleradio-Moldova expresses deep regret over the passing of the great actor, director, and humorist Gheorghe Urschi, an emblematic personality of national culture who shaped generations through his talent, intellect, and distinctive humor.
Gheorghe Urschi stands as an iconic figure on the artistic stage of the Republic of Moldova, known for a distinguished career in theatre, film, television, and literature. He holds the titles of People’s Artist, recipient of the Order of the Republic and the National Prize, and Honorary Citizen of Chișinău.
He passed away on April 13 at the age of 78. He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 15, at the Central Cemetery on Armenească Str. in Chișinău. The State Flag will fly at half-mast, and a moment of silence will be observed at 12:00 in his memory.
