Reactions after the visit of the PSRM delegation to Moscow: CUB considers that such actions can be equated with treason to the homeland

Scandal surrounding the visit of five members of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) to Moscow the other day, the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General's Office, stating that such actions can be equated with treason. The party's president, Igor Munteanu, has asked socialist MPs to disavow such meetings, and if they are not heard, they will ask the authorities to outlaw the PSRM. In reply, the PSRM spokesman says it will not react to "uninspired attempts by a party that promotes its image through polemics".

CUB considers that talks with the "Edinaia Rossia" party in the midst of a war of co-optation against Ukraine can be equated with "betrayal of the homeland". In a press release published on the CUB website, party chairman Igor Munteanu says he will demand the start of legal proceedings to outlaw the PSRM.

"The presence of a parliamentary party in the capital of Russia, inappropriate and inappropriate to the national interest. Due to the fact that the people they met in the Russian capital are people on international sanctions lists, we considered that this should be examined by the relevant institutions and determine the extent to which this does not contravene the official policy of the Republic of Moldova," said Igor Munteanu.

Contacted by Moldova 1 for a reaction, PSRM spokeswoman Carmena Sterpu told us that the socialists "will not react to the uninspired attempts of a party, with 0.0%, to promote itself by drawing PSRM into public polemics".
